12/6/12 Update - Kirra has raised enough funds to set a date for her surgery. It is set to be December 20th, 2012! Please keep positive thoughts and prayers going Kirra's way as she will need them.

As you can tell from this photo Kirra is in need of some help. For months and months one of our wonderful volunteer has been putting drops into her eyes several times a day, and has even turned it into a game. Although it has never been an inconvenience for him, he wants what is best for Kirra. In his own words, these are his feelings:

"I feel, in the long run, wiping down her face will be better for her than drops and washing mucus out of her eyes every hour. She has the routine down and is very good about it but she should be playing not sitting and letting me fuss with her eyes."

One of our wonderful vets wants to do a surgery that will redirect her saliva glands to her eye duct, which will give her eye a natural lubricant. Kirra is basicly blind in one eye and losing vision in the other, and this surgery can help keep that one good eye from getting any worse. It has an 85% chance of being successful, but we know she is young and will heal well! The cost will be $2500 and we cannot plan the surgery without raising the money first.
