12/6/12 - Caprice is healing so well and we will keep up you updates as we know more about her heartworm treatment!

6/24/12 UPDATE: Post operational Pictures!
Caprice is out of surgery and healing. Florida Boxer Rescue wanted to share photos of her after surgery (above) and how she was still happy after a major surgery! Caprice needs more donations to help pay for her medical bills, and we are always in need of donations for all of the dogs in our rescue. Please take a look at Caprice's photos, and feel free to make a donation. No donation is too small, and will help us to continue saving dogs lives! Thank you for your never-ending support!

 6/14 UPDATE
Here is an update on Caprice, who had her surgery yesterday (6/13):
Just wanted all of you to know that Caprice, the little girl who had been it by a car in Osceloa County, came through surgery today with great results. We thought we were going to have to amputate her rear leg, but Dr. Van LU was able to save it by doing an FHO. So this little young girl will rehab at her foster home and will exercise herself by playing full tilt with other boxers and swimming after a few weeks and she will be good as new!!!  This is because of the support we receive every day! Although she has completed her surgery, we still need to raise the money to pay the bill. The exact cost is unknown, but she will need several post surgical appointments to help monitor her progress.

6/12 Welcome Caprice
Caprice was found on the side of the road by animal services. She was at animal service for a little while before Florida Boxer rescue could save her. Her companion Osce, was with her and it's thought she was hit by a car, though no one knows when this may have occured. He seems to be a loyal companion for her! Caprice needs surgery to repair her broken bones, which after Xrays there were several broken bones that showed up. The neck of the femur is broken and her pelvis is cracked in four places. She is in pain but being given meds until her surgery. She will have an FHO and have a plate attached to her pelvis to stabilize it. The surgery alone is $1500 plus vet costs up to and after surgery.
